There is a tree that grows in Cuba called a “Flamboyan”. Although I left Cuba at a young age, Miami (where I grew up from the age of 10) also had flamboyan trees. Now that I’m in Perth, Australia, very far from home, I’ve seen the flamboyan trees here too. This piece is a reflection of how life certainly changes (especially in 2020), but there are all sorts of things that stay with us throughout our lives that bring us purity and purpose.
