“Illustration of A Transcendent Heart”

During the pandemic I wrote a series of three compositions as part of the Jazz Coalition commision. The titles were: "City of Lights," inspired in the city of New York and experiencing the intense lights while driving during the lock down in the empty streets of Manhattan. "Please, tell me Why," which I wrote after participating in a Black Lives Matter march at the church of 116th St. and Amsterdam. "Illustration of A Transcendent Heart," reflecting on all the challenges we faced and the need to transcend and reinvent ourselves.
